Born in Japan and raised in the Bay Area, Ayumi began her career at Michael Anthony Salon in 2014. After a few years in Denver, she returned home and rejoined the team in 2024. With over 11 years of experience, Ayumi is a Level 4 stylist specializing in natural, low-maintenance lived-in color and hand-tied weft extensions.
Recognized for her artistry, Ayumi was named one of Beauty Launchpad’s 30 Under 30 Haircolorists and won Behind the Chair’s One Shot Hair Award in 2022 for the Brunette Category.
Education is Ayumi’s love language behind the chair — she strives for every guest to leave loving their hair and feeling confident in caring for it at home.
Outside the salon, Ayumi loves spending time with her family, including her teenage son and two corgi pups. She enjoys reading (especially sports romance) and nurturing her growing collection of houseplants.
